Host Dana Barrett Interviews Central Atlanta Progress Members About Iconic Atlanta Buildings

Hmmm... where is this guy going? (Or not going?)

For co-host Elizabeth Gordon’s final week on the road, Dana Barrett is joined by fill-in co-host and Membership Manager at Central Atlanta Progress, Dan Williams.

Dan and Dana discuss the headlines and are joined by Central Atlanta progress members Jeremy Coppels from Boxer Property and Sarah-Elizabeth Langford of National Church Residences.

The group talked about what is happening with a couple of iconic Atlanta buildings, The Hurt Building and The Imperial Hotel.  Boxer Property is now leasing upgrading and leasing office space in The Hurt Building and National Church Residences is about to start renovating and upgrading the old Imperial Hotel building to create a very upscale and safe solution for Atlanta’s homeless who are in need of services.

Interesting sign position... but I'd like to sit, please!

In addition we discussed a couple of odd happenings around town.  See photos included here – and listen in to find out what the heck is going on!

Host Dana Barrett is joined by Peter Ashley, Gene Hammett and Jewel Anderson

Peter Ashley is back for a second week of fill-in co-host duties while regular co-host and change management consultant Elizabeth Gordon continues to consult in Singapore.  He  joins regular show co-host Dana Barrett for a review of the business headlines and a lively discussion about the challenges of growing your business.

Gene Hammett

Guests this week are Business Coach, Gene Hammett from Core Elevation and Jewel Anderson from Under 30 Following the Vision.  Gene shared his personal story of succeeding, failing spectacularly and then pulling himself back up by the bootstraps.  It’s a compelling story that you’ll want to hear!

Gene also explained the difference between coaching, consulting and training and talked about how coaching helps you get to the solutions yourself rather than “telling you what to do” and he noted that when you figure it out for yourself, you’re more likely to follow through and make real progress.  He clearly has a unique coaching style and a passion for the work he is doing that you’ll hear throughout the show.

Jewel talked about her new non-profit venture Under 30 Following The Vision and talked about her desire to help young entrepreneurs get both exposure and funding.  She explained the scholarship program, talked about the three finalists and shared her vision for the organization going forward!

Host Dana Barrett is joined by Peter Ashley & Larry White to Discuss Crowd Funding

Filling in for Elizabeth Gordon, who is consulting in Singapore, Peter Ashley joins regular show co-host Dana Barrett for a review of the business headlines and a lively discussion about crowd funding with The Ritz Group CEO Larry White.

The three dish about internet radio via the TuneIn App for Androids and iPhones, puzzle over deck chair hogs on Carnival Cruises, and come up with hottest new business idea this side of Legoland.

Then they get serious and talk about crowd funding… what it is, who it works for, and how it works in concert with more traditional funding methods.  Larry shares how a start-up that has proven they have an interesting concept by raising money through crowd funding is going to be that much more attractive to an angel investor, or venture capital group that they may meet through an organization like The Ritz Group.

Tune in for the best business chat in the Southeast!
